Since September 2007, TBS opened its services to render high definition programming to its viewers. While a moderate amount of programming is still in SD, it does stretch over to the widescreen format on many HDTVs similar to a panoramic view. In this technology, while the main objects on the screen are at the center sustaining their original aspect ratios, there is distortion evident on the left and right edges of the screen. The Pacific Time Zone subsequently got its share of the HD feed in 2010.
Turner Time and TBS
The TBS app, much later, evolved an off-time scheduling for a program called Turner Time. TBS decided to begin airing programs five minutes later than the competitors and got their own time entry on the TV Guide. Eventually, though, Turner Time’s scheduling was revised in 1997 and conventional start times were issued by the year 2000. Yet, movies aired on the channel, still use unconventional timings. Most premium channels today apply this type of formatting.
